Individual members of St. Thomas or their families are invited to “adopt-a-spot” on the grounds around the Church. You can take pride in knowing you are helping St. Thomas stay beautiful by weeding, raking and doing general maintenance. Gardening and working outdoors have great health benefits too! You can get started by signing up on the Adopt-A-Spot map in the narthex.
We plan fellowship events for our church membership and fundraising activities to support Church projects. Watch the First Day Notes and Vine and Branches for upcoming meetings and events. We hope to see you at our next meeting or function!
Our choirs provide an opportunity to develop and use our musical gifts in worship, service and fellowship to enhance the life of our worshiping community. They include: Adult Choir, Junior & Children’s Choirs, Hand Bell Choirs, Praise Band.
THE CHRISTMAS STORE
The Christmas Store is a very rewarding joint mission between St. Thomas Lutheran Church and St. Paul Methodist Church. Planning begins in August. The first meeting is held the second week of September at St. Thomas. The Christmas Store is held in early December, here at St. Thomas. Please consider coming out and being part of this great event.
Working with the FoodBank of Ocean & Monmouth Counties, our pantry provides food for the hungry in times of need and short term emergencies. The second Sunday of every month is Food Pantry Sunday. Food donations are accepted in the narthex. All canned goods and dried goods are welcome.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
St. Thomas has partnered with Northern Ocean County Habitat for Humanity. The Church provides sandwiches for volunteers at build sites. Members of the congregation also participate in local builds.
This group promotes fellowship while working on craft projects to support the Church, our Community and the Global Mission.
This group provides maintenance and upkeep of the Garden which provides a place of reflection for loved ones and friends of those who are interred there.
The Piano Builders meet on Thursdays. We prepare the hymn boards for each Sunday. We also maintain the church property and grounds. There are many small projects that require attention and we are always looking for things to improve. If your are interested in becoming part of our group we could use the help.
Throughout the year, St. Thomas has a lite coffee hour between services on Sunday. Members are invited to help out with this fellowship activity. Contact Pam Rourke or the Pastors if interested.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
A week long camp-like setting during which children experience Bible lessons, crafts, songs and fun.
Children from pre-school through senior high are encouraged to attend Church and are shown that regular Church worship can be rewarding and fun through special activities, service projects, events and trips.
