Senior Ministry – “Fall Celebration” Luncheon

The senior ministry is continuing here at St. Thomas. The on-going goal is to provide a fellowship opportunity for the seniors of our community through special events. Invitations for these events will be distributed through such venues as the Brick Senior Center and will be limited to the first 50 RSVP’s received. We will continue to hold these events on a quarterly basis so that we can provide a meal and some sort of entertainment to these seniors.

The next scheduled event will be a Senior “Fall Celebration” Luncheon to be held on Sunday, October 21st, at 12:30PM, at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Seniors from the community are invited to attend. If you know of someone interested or interested yourself in attending, please call the church office at 732-477-5533 so we can keep a count of the number of attendees. Help is always needed. Please check the kiosk in the narthex to see how you can help this thriving ministry.

St. Thomas Volunteer Host Site

If your group is interested in coming to New Jersey to help with Super-Storm Sandy Recovery efforts, St. Thomas Lutheran Church, in partnership with Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, can provide a place to stay for up to 24 individuals. We are located in northern Ocean County (just south of Monmouth County) in an area hit hard by Super-Storm Sandy. We are just minutes from local beaches, boardwalks, and other Jersey Shore attractions. Please see attached brochure for more details.

“Joyful Noise” Worship Service

In lieu of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been no “Joyful Noise” worship.  Though St. Thomas Lutheran Church is planning to have in-person worship starting July 5th, “Joyful Noise” worship is suspended indefinitely.  It is the hope of St. Thomas to resume “Joyful Noise” worship soon.

Come join St. Thomas Lutheran Church every 2nd Sunday of the month at 1:15PM to take part in a new worship service geared for children and adults with disabilities. Snacks and fellowship will follow this worship service. See attached flyer for more details.

Greater Shore Concert Band (Winter Concert)

St. Thomas Lutheran Church presents the Greater Shore Concert Band. Always a favorite here at St. Thomas, the Greater Shore Concert Band will present a holiday concert on Sunday, December 9th, at 2:00PM. These concerts have proven to be the most popular in the St. Thomas series.

The Greater Shore Concert Band was established in 1966 by Henry Melnik. Over the past 48 years, this 70-member band has performed throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties as well as in New York State. In addition, the Band has performed in England, Scotland, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany.

Bring along your family and friends as well as your best singing voice and prepare to enjoy this extra special music at this very special time of year. There is no price for admission, but a free-will offering will be asked from those in attendance. For more information, contact the church office (732-477-5533).
